The City Council Wants Answers

We were very excited about the tone of the City Council meeting on Monday, September 9. The Councilors asked a number of very thoughtful questions that will be submitted to city staff on Friday, September 13.

Here are some of the questions the Councilors asked at the meeting:

  • How long would a NEPA Review take?
  • Is it possible to get another railroad crossing?
  • Can the maintenance shed be moved?
  • Can the city mandate the number of parking spaces the developer must provide for the residents?
  • How much can change between the approved plans and the actual final construction?
  • How will not granting access affect the tax credit?
  • Who pays for the enhanced emergency routes and access road through the park?
  • Would the cost of maintenance of the access road be shared between the City and the developer?
  • Has anyone done a “bottleneck” study? What happens if there is an emergency?
  • Has the City verified the traffic count provided by the developer?
  • If another at grade crossing is added, will it impact the pedestrian crossing on Court Street?
  • What will the impact be on the park during construction?
  • Five different access options have been proposed: State, Ferry, Commercial, Bellevue, and through the Boise Cascade Warehouse building. How many of these options are possible?
  • Is there a performance guarantee?

The Council requested that the public submit questions (email is most effective) no later than Friday, September 13.

They are listening, so it’s important that we help them ask the right questions so they can get accurate feedback and make the right decision.
